Transfermarkt predicts how AC Milan’s XI will change with 4 new signings

Transfermarkt predicts how the starting eleven of AC Milan will change next season with four new arrivals.

There is still a long way to go before the season is over and the summer transfer window opens. Nevertheless, AC Milan are already working to improve the current squad and give coach Stefano Pioli an even more competitive roster.

Many are sure that AC Milan will not revolutionize the team and the size of their squad. But Stefano Pioli will need 3 or 4 important signings which can give solidity, quality and continuity to Milan’s growth path. Transfermarkt tries to forecast what will be AC Milan’s starting eleven for next season based on confirmations and market rumors.

The 4-2-3-1 game system is untouchable for coach Pioli. The contracts of three AC Milan players expire at the end of the season. Romagnoli, Kessie and Ibrahimovic are about to become free agents and only the Swedish striker has a chance to extend his stay at San Siro.

Mike Maignan will protect the goal also for next season. The French goalkeeper has been an excellent performer making fans forget about Gianluigi Donnarumma. Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez will continue to be the starting full-backs with Sven Botman expected to play alongside Fikayo Tomori. The Dutch centre back has agreed a give-year contract with Milan.

Important changes will happen in midfielder. Sandro Tonali has become a key player for Pioli but his partner will no longer be Franck Kessie. Renato Sanches is tipped to succeed the Ivorian midfielder. The contract of Renato Sanches with Lille runs down in one year and he’s on the market for a fee of around 20 million euros.

Yacine Adli could the starting attacking midfielder next season. The French gem has done really well in that position with Bordeaux. Adli is an elegant footballer, with a keen eye for goal and renown for his accurate passing. The 21-year-old has provided seven assists in Ligue 1 so far, finding the back of the net on one occasion.

The situation regarding the right winger is tough to decipher. Names like Berardi, Asensio and Noa Lang have been linked with a potential transfer to AC Milan but much will depend on the budget summer available to Maldini. For now, the most likely option is for Alexios Saelemaekers to occupy that role also in the future.

Finally, the centre forward role. With Ibrahimovic’s contract expiring and Giroud towards the age of 36, Milan will focus on a new number 9. Andrea Belotti could be the ideal name for a number of reasons. He’s a proven goal scorer, a Rossoneri fan since childhood and available on a transfer transfer.
