Transfer updates on Brahim, Rudiger, Papu, Ilicic and Scamacca

Transfer updates on AC Milan targets: Brahim Diaz, Antonio Rudiger, Papu Gomez, Ilicic and Gianluca Scamacca.

The summer transfer window may still need many days to open but AC Milan are quite active already. The Rossoneri have purchased Mike Maignan and are sorting the last details for the permanent transfer of Fikayo Tomori that will cost around 28 million. The English defender has agreed a 5-year contract at €3 million per season.

Meanwhile, the management is looking at other targets. Another centre back is expected to arrive with Antonio Rudiger a topic of interest during Tomori talks. The German star played a key role in Chelsea’s success in the Champions League but he becomes a free agent in one year. Massara, who brought him at Roma, is pushing for his signing. The player will shortly have a meeting with the Chelsea management to discuss his future. If Rudiger doesn’t renew, he will be sold this summer.

Spanish talent Brahim Diaz had a positive first season at the San Siro scoring 7 goals and assisting 4 in 39 appearances. The recent appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as new Real Madrid coach favors a quick resolution for Diaz. AC Milan will renew his loan for one more year and will push to insert a buy option of around €20 million.

The Hakan Calhanoglu situation has just turned interesting. The Turkish midfielder has reportedly reopened renewal talks but Milan keep looking for his replacement on the mercato. Agent Giuseppe Riso has offered Papu Gomez to AC Milan. The Argentine star of Sevilla wants to return in Italy but the Rossoneri are not interested. Same stance on Ilicic but for different reasons. If Milan sign Giroud, he will be the only over-30 player to arrive this summer.

Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca remains on AC Milan’s radar. The Rossoneri were very interested in his signing in January but were shocked by Sassuolo’s 40 million asking price. Scamacca has done well this season with Genoa scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances but he was never a regular starter throughout the season. If Sassuolo don’t halve their asking fee, Milan will start concretely at other names.
