Since his arrival at AC Milan, Rade Krunic has failed to make an impact and the Rossoneri are looking around for alternatives.
AC Milan secured qualification to the next round of Europa League after yesterday’s spectacular 4-2 victory against Celtic Glasgow. A fantastic comeback led by flamboyant winger Jens Peter Hauge but a night to forget for Rade Krunic.
His mistake led to the opening goal for Celtic and also in the second goal Krunic was badly positioned. At the end of the first half the Bosnia midfielder left the pitch to make room for Sandro Tonali. AC Milan had agreed to sell Krunic to Freiburg in the summer but the 27-year-old wanted to stay at San Siro and refused to leave.
Again his days look numbered with the Rossoneri in search for alternatives on the market. According to Calciomercato.it, AC Milan are considering signing Sami Khedira from Juventus as Krunic’s replacement.
Technical director Paolo Maldini could take advantage of the good relations with the Bianconeri to secure the German midfielder in January. Khedira’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season but Juve are ready to let him go on a free transfer in January.
The World Cup winner currently earns 6 million euros per season. However, a two-year contract would allow the Rossoneri to spread the cost of his wages. Nevertheless, for now, Khedira is just an idea for Milan and not a top transfer target.
