Antonio Conte’s economic demands to join AC Milan

Former Chelsea and Juventus coach Antonio Conte could be on his way to Italy with both AC Milan and Inter interested in his services.

Antonio Conte is a coach with many fans in Serie A. The Italian manager wants to return to his homeland after a two-years experience at Chelsea. Obviously he wants a serious project with technical and economic guarantees. Conte is one of the main candidates to replace Gennaro Gattuso in case Milan sack him at the end of the season.

City-rivals of Inter and interested in Antonio Conte too. With the arrival of Giuseppe Marotta at Inter, the Nerazzurri destination has always seemed the most likely one. The two have worked together at Juventus and the situation of Luciano Spalletti leads to thinking that the club will change technical direction at the end of the season. Despite the rumors about Jose Mourinho, it seems like Conte is Inter’s dream for the bench.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that signing Conte is going to be very difficult for both clubs. The former coach of Chelsea demands a salary of 10 million euros per season, the same figure he earned in England. After he was sacked he sued Chelsea for damages arising from his sacking and unpaid salary demanding a hefty fee of 23 million euros as compensation.

The Rossoneri are trying hard to land a place in the top four this season. Only Champions League qualification can help AC Milan attract prestigious names like Conte or Mauricio Pochettino to succeed Gennaro Gattuso.

At least for the moment, Conte’s economic demands are deemed to high by both Milan and Inter. Just to make a comparaison, Juventus coach Massimilano Allegri who is the highest paid in Italy earns 7,5 million euros per season.  Not to mention that the potential arrival of Conte must certainly concede with heavy investments in the summer transfer window.
