Three key players to miss Benevento match

AC Milan will start the new year against Filippo Inzaghi’s Benevento but with three important players out.

On 3 January AC Milan make their new year debut against Benevento. The newly promoted squad are doing very well this season and currently sit 10th in Serie A standings. The match against Benevento will see the Rossoneri face a familiar face from the past because Benevento are guided by AC Milan legend and former coach Filippo Inzaghi.

AC Milan hope to keep the same rhythm in 2021 but a couple of important players will miss Milan vs Benevento. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is doing personalized work and hopes to return for the match against Juventus. The Swedish striker is expected to fully recover after two weeks.

Mid-January is the same return date for Ismael Bennacer. The Algerian midfielder has been dealing with a muscle injury and has missed the last three league games. Fortunately his recovery has been going well while Gabbia will stay out at least until FEbruary.

For the match against Benevento coach Stefano Pioli will also be without the services of Theo Hernandez. The flamboyant left back scored the match winner in the last minutes against Lazio but a yellow card means he’s suspended for Benevento. Fortunately there is some good news.

Defensive rock Simon Kjaer has recovered and will play. Stefano Pioli will evaluate his progress in these days and decide whether to use him from the first minute or in the second half. Franck Kessie, who was suspended for Lazio, will be available too.
