Theo Hernandez decides to leave AC Milan with summer transfer imminent

Theo Hernandez is set to leave AC Milan this summer according to a report from France. The decision is already made from the defender.

AC Milan and Theo Hernandez may part ways after five years together. Last summer it was Sandro Tonali the heavyweight to leave the club while this time the big name target to be sold is the French left back. Both, the Rossoneri club and the French star are on the same page regarding his departure this summer.

L’Equipe reports that Theo Hernandez has already decided to leave. In fact, the 26-year-old defender wanted to leave since last summer. Hernandez was greatly disappointing by the club’s decision to sack his mentor Paolo Maldini. What happened during this season has further reaffirmed his decision to leave as Theo Hernandez feels that AC Milan have shown a lack of ambition and desire to win according to L’Equipe. Milan, on the other hand, never opened talks to offer Theo the contract renewal.

Bayern Munich are looking to sign Theo Hernandez. The German club are expected to lose Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid and want a top left back to replace the Canadian. Bayern Munich and the representatives of the player have already reached an agreement on a long-term contract at €8 million per season. However, the player is not fully convinced of joining Bayern Munich.

The priority of Theo Hernandez is to return to Spain at Real Madrid. The France international feels he wasn’t given the chance to prove himself at Santiago Bernabeu during his solo season there and would like another chance to show his qualities. There have already been contacts between Real Madrid and Hernandez but he remains their plan B in case they miss on Davies.

AC Milan have set the price tag of Theo Hernandez at €80 million which would allow the Rossoneri to quadruple the investment they made for his services in 2019. Hernandez has been one of AC Milan’s pillars ever since arriving at San Siro. He has made 213 appearances with the Red and Blacks, scoring 29 goals and assisting 39.
