For the second time in two years AC Milan and Juventus face each-other in the final of Supercoppa Italiana to be played today in Saudi Arabia.
At 18:30 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, AC Milan face Serie A reigning champions Juventus in the Italian Super Cup final. A difficult challenge for the Rossoneri who precisely two years ago won the Super Cup trophy against Juventus in Qatar. In yesterday’s press conference coach Gennaro Gattuso confirmed he will not make any changes and reaffirmed the good mode of the group.
Gigio Donnarumma will make his first appearances in 2019. The Italian goalkeeper was rested for the Coppa Italia match in order to be more ready for Juventus. In defence Rino will rely again on Cristian Zapata who forms the central duo with captain Romagnoli. Ricardo Rodriguez on the left while Davide Calabria takes Abate’s place on the right.
The same midfield of Sampdoria will be seen even against Juventus. New arrival Lucas Paqueta demonstrated that he is ready to contribute and will be rewarded with a fist minute start in the Super Cup. It will be up to him to provide the necessary creative spark in midfield. Franck Kessie and Bakayoko complete the department in the usual 4-3-3 lineup.
The future of star striker Gonzalo Higuan took central stage in the press conference but coach Gennaro Gattuso insisted that the Argentine is calm and at 90% he will start from the first minute today. Flamboyant winger Suso is suspended for this match so once again Castillejo will play on the right. The Spaniard alongside Calhanoglu will be in support of El Pipia Higuain.
JUVENTUS (4-3-3): Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Bentancur, Pjanic, Matuidi; Bernardeschi, Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo.
AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Calabria, Zapata, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Bakayoko, Paqueta; Castillejo, Higuain, Calhanoglu.
