OFFICIAL – AC Milan announce defender sale

AC Milan defender Stefan Simic becomes the second Rossoneri player to leave this summer. The 24-year-old joins Hajduk Split.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Europa League ban hasn’t stopped AC Milan for being active on the transfer market. Now that problems with UEFA have been solved it’s time for the Rossoneri to concentrate on strengthening the squad but also selling some players who are surplus to requirements.

Several players who aren’t part of coach Marco Giampaolo’s plans for the future are expected to leave. After Gustavo Gomez who joined Palmeiras on a permanent deal, Stefan Simic becomes the second AC Milan sale this summer.

Stefan Simic leaves AC Milan to join Croatian side Hajduk Split. The 24-year-old centre back had a contract with Milan until 2020 and this season he was loaned to Serie A side Frosinone.

Simic has been part of AC Milan since 2014 when he was signed from Genoa. The Czech defender never made a league appearance for the club, however, he made his debut with the Rossoneri in a Europa League home match against Dudelange. His transfer fee to Hajduk Split has not been revealed.

With an official statement on its website, Milan thanked the player for his services: “AC Milan announces the definitive transfer of the registration rights of the player Stefan Simic to HNK Hajduk Split. The Club thanks the footballer for his professionalism and wishes him all the best for his sporting career“.
