Sky: AC Milan want to strengthen the attack with Roma star

AC Milan aim to strengthen their attack and have reignited their interest in Roma Nicolo Zaniolo reports Sky Sport.

The negotiation for the renewal of Zaniolo as the next goal on the agenda? I remember that a week after the end of the summer window the same things were said. With a lot of honesty I think this is the moment of the collective. Over the next four months we must help the manager and the players improve the team’s performance and achieve the results we all want. This is not the time to talk about individual interests and renewals. We just have to think about these four months and our goals to achieve because in my opinion we can have a good season. Can I guarantee that Zaniolo will play for Roma next year? No I can not, neither I nor anyone can“.

These words, spoken by the General Manager of Roma, Thiago Pinto, the day after the closing of the January transfer window have caused a lot of noise in Italy. The permanence of Nicolo Zaniolo at the Giallorossi has has been put in doubt fueling rumors about a summer exit.

On the other hand, Zaniolo, despite the many injuries which have influenced his growth, remains one of the best players in Italian football. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has made 26 appearances this season scoring four goals and providing five assists.

With his contract expiring in two years that chances that Roma may sell Nicolo Zaniolo this summer are very high according to Sky Sport. Jose Mourinho’s have set an asking price for Zaniolo between 30 and 40 million euros.

Juventus are very interested in Zaniolo but AC Milan have joined the race for the Italian prodigy reports Sky Sport. The Rossoneri currently have only Brahim Diaz in that position while Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers have been mostly underwhelming on the right wing.

Since the arrival of coach Jose Mourinho, Nicolo Zaniolo has been deployed predominantly on the right wing this season. AC Milan are expected to make significant investments during the summer to improve both the attacking midfielder and right winger position.
