Andriy Shevchenko comments on AC Milan rumors and backs his old friends Maldini and Boban for success.
Andriy Shevchenko always has AC Milan in his heart. The former centre forward, who is one of the best players to have ever graced San Siro with his performances, commented on the difficult situation of the club now led by his ex teammates and great friends, Boban and Maldini.
Sheva has never hidden his high esteem and confidence in them and obviously his love for AC Milan. The 42-year-old, along with names like Claudio Ranieri, Rudi Garcia and Arsene Wenger, has been rumored as a possible candidate to replace Marco Giampaolo as AC Milan coach.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach of the Ukrainian national team commented on the rumors of a possible arrival on the Rossoneri’s bench: “I love Milan but the club has never contacted me and professionally I don’t think of Milan right now“.
As acmilaninfo.com had initially reported Shevchenko is not an option for AC Milan. Sheva reiterated his professional interest only for Ukraine: “I am the coach of Ukraine and all my commitment goes to my country. I want to go to the European Championship with my boys“.
The former number 7 talks about Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban: “They are the real guarantee of Milan, the team will recover soon. I’m here in Milano, it’s true, but to watch my players and after the Atalanta vs Shakhtar game I’ll have dinner with my Milan friends. Only because we love each other and time after time we meet all together”.
