Atalanta vs Milan, probable lineups

AC Milan will play Atalanta in the last Serie A match before the international break. Simon Kjaer returns for the Bergamo match.

Tonight AC Milan will face Atalanta away from San Siro. Atalanta vs Milan will be the last Serie A match before the international break in addition to being a direct match between two clubs who compete for a spot in the top four.

Coach Stefano Pioli will make very few changes for Atalanta vs Milan. The good news is the return of Simon Kjaer. The Danish star has fully recovered and will guide the defence alongside Fikayo Tomori. Davide Calabria will play on the right with Theo Hernandez on the left. Mike Maignan will protect the goal against one of Serie A’s best attacking sides.

After his sharp dip in form and many mistakes lately, Pioli is set to bench Franck Kessie reports  Sky Sport. Ismael Bennacer will form the central duo with Sandro Tonali. The Italian midfielder is now an untouchable player in Pioli’s formation.

There will be no changes even in attack. Oliver Giroud is still suffering from back problems so Ante Rebic is tasked again to lead the attack. The Croatian will be supported by Brahim Diaz, another player that has become untouchable in Pioli’s eyes. Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao will play on the wings. New signing Junior Messias will be available for the first time and could make his debut against Atalanta.

ATALANTA (3-4-2-1): Musso; Toloi, Palomino, Djimsiti; Zappacosta, De Roon, Freuler, Maehle; Malinovskyi, Pessina, Zapata.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Rebic.
