Italian press has revealed today how much top teams spend for their players and how much the footballers earn. Milan is second place behind Juventus.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today highlights the wage budget of all the Serie A teams, indicating both the total payroll and the individual payments for the players in each club.

At the top there is Juventus, who pay 164 million euros (gross) in total to their players. The most paid footballer is Gonzalo Higuain, who earns 7.5 million net per year. The former Napoli striker is followed by Paulo Dybala with 7 millions and Douglas Costa with 6. Behind them Gianluigi Buffon and Miralem Pjanic at 4.5 millions each followed by Sami Khedira at 4. Then all the others.

In the second position regarding the wage budget there is AC Milan, with a total of 117 million gross (in 2016 salary payments were at 80 millions) spending for the team. Captain Leonardo Bonucci is the most paid earning the same as Higuain (7.5 millions a year). In second position there is Gianluigi Donnarumma, who after the much debated renewal earns 6 millions a year. Following are Lucas Biglia and Nikola Kalinic with 3.5 million each. At 2.5 there are Fabio Borini, Hakan Calhanoglu and Riccardo Montolivo. Other new arrivals: Franck Kessie takes 2.2 million annually, Ricardo Rodriguez 2.1, Andrea Conti, Mateo Musacchio and Andre Silva 2 while Antonio Donnarumma earns 1 million. At the bottom of AC Milan’s payment list we find Patrick Cutrone who earns 180,000 euros. Nothing to worry, an improved contract will be offered soon to the young star.

Roma is in third place with 91 millions spent annually. Edin Dzeko with 4.5 million net per year is the richest, followed by Radja Nainggolan with 4.2. Behind Roma there is Inter, who pay 82 million to their players. Captain Mauro Icardi is the most paid player of the nerazzurri with 4.5 million euros per season. Followed by Ivan Perisic and Joao Miranda with 3. Napoli spends 81 millions and has Lorenzo Insigne with 3.6 millions as its most remunerated element. Then come Dries Mertens and Marek Hamsik with 3.5 million each.
