Bad news for AC Milan who besides Simon Kjaer lose another defender for the remaining of the season.
Serie A resumed with AC Milan facing Lecce away from Ssan Siro. The debut of the Rossoneri was more than satisfying with Stefano Pioli’s side winning 4-1 thanks to goals from Castillejo, Bonaventura, Rebic and Rafael Leao.
Absent for the match was Mateo Musacchio who suffered an injury in the last training session. The injury of the Argentine defender was much more serious than initially thought. Musacchio underwent surgery and will be out of the pitch for four months.
“AC Milan announce that today Mateo Musacchio underwent arthroscopy on the left ankle by Prof. Ramon Cugat, in the presence of the Club’s medical doctor, Dr. Lucio Genesio”.
“The surgeon said he was satisfied with the outcome of the surgery. The recovery time is estimated at four months, barring complications”, said an official statement from the club.
This is a huge problem for the club who had planned to sell the 29-year-old defender in the summer transfer window. His potential return in November risks putting away interested suitors.
