Salernitana 2-2 AC Milan, player ratings
AC Milan manage to save one point in a very disappointing math against Salernitana. Messias is deluding while Maignan is unrecognizable.
Maignan 4: He is guilty in Salernitana’s first goal with awful judgement mistake and risks repeat him himself when trying to dribble an opponent in his area. A match to forget for the French goalkeeper.
Calabria 5: An anonymous match in the first half for the Italian right back. Calabria gives very few crosses in the opponent’s area and his contribution in the offensive phase is missing.
Tomori 4.5: The task of marking Djuric proves difficult for Tomori with the English defender loosing all the air duels. Awful positioning in both goals scored by Salernitana. Not very precise with his feet, he struggles to clear the area on a number of occasions.
Romagnoli 5: Romagnoli struggles a lot just like Tomori throughout the 90 minutes. He manage to saves AC Milan from a sure goal from Bonazzoli after the mess caused by Maignan. Exhausted at the end of the game does not manage to cordiante his passes.
Theo Hernandez 5.5: Starts the match with an elegant pass for Junior Messias that gives AC Milan the advantage. He puts intensity and a lot of determination but like all his teammates he’s bit imprecise in the last 20 meters.
Bennacer 5.5: Receives a yellow card on the first half and is very limited in his game. Pioli substitutes him with Franck Kessie (5.5) in the second half but the Ivorian midfielder is not lucid as well.
Tonali 5: Not his best match, he loses several balls, one of which almost costs him an injury when trying to recover the ball. The AC Milan number 8 was obviously very tired and in need of rest. Many mistakes passes.
Messias 5.5: One of the most positive players in the first half, he unlocks the match and also recovers many balls in defense, proving to be precious even in the coverage phase. However, his contribution in attack is very little in attack.
Brahim Diaz 4.5: Confusing first half for the number 10, who struggles a lot to find continuity in his game.
Rebic 5.5: Enters the match in the second half and scores a spectacular goal that helps Milan avoids defeat. However, his passing is almost always imprecise breaking a number of AC Milan’s attack.
Leao 5: The Portuguese often exaggerates with his dribbling. He does better in the second half but always below his usual standard. He tries to invent but without success. Was close to the goal with a bicycle kick that is out by one inch.
Giroud 5.5: The French striker fights and is always present in the opponent’s area. However, Giroud is always never served by his teammates. He has only one good chance by Giroud is surprisingly unprecise when one-on-one with Sepe.
