Sacchi reveals what should Milan improve and gives De Ketelaere stance
Arrigo Sacchi analyzes AC Milan’s season until now and highlights the area that the Rossoneri need to improve.
AC Milan ended 2022 with a Scudetto in their pocket that was missing for over a decade. The Rossoneri aim to repeat themselves with back-to-back Serie A wins but so far they have been playin catch up with Napoli. Luciano Spalletti’s side lead the league with 8 points of distance and no defeats until now.
The fact is that AC Milan have not been as competitive this season. While the Rossoneri are second in Serie A standings, something is missing from the squad that used to fight for victory until the very last seconds of the match last season. Former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi analyzes the Rososneri’s season until December.
“I give Milan a 7 for their season so far. They haven’t had good results in the last friendly matches, but the group knows what to do to relaunch the chase. Giroud and Theo Hernandez are vice world champions, they will transmit positivity and experience. The fundamental thing is that Stefano Pioli’s group returns to being a team.
Milan must be compact in order to be able to manage ball possession, to do the pressing action well, to encourage collaboration and synergy between the departments and, finally, to arrive at the internalization of the game which must be the real goal. Is the center forward missing? It’s not a serious problem, it can be solved. The important thing is that the team is not missing”, says Sacchi.
The legendary Italian coach is optimistic about the future of Charles De Ketelaere despite his slow start to life in Serie A. “I await De Ketelaere with confidence. Now he has to enter the game, into the mechanisms“
