Russian club to make important offer for Niang
AC Milan could soon sell another striker after Carlos Bacca’s move to Villarreal on loan. M’baye Niang is wanted in Russia.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sports, AC Milan could make another sale in attack immediately after Carlos Bacca’s move to Villarreal. Russian side of Spartak Moscow are about to present the rossoneri an important offer of nearly 20 million euros to get the 22 year old M’Baye Niang. This figure would be more than acceptable for Milan. The Russian team has yet to agree personal terms with the French striker. Niang’s sale would translate into more chances to stay for youngster Patrick Cutrone.
It was initially believed that manager Vincenzo Montella would give another chance to Niang but his Europa League performances against Craiova were disappointing. The Frenchman failed to impress. AC Milan tried to sell Niang in England with Everton interested in his services but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement.
In 2012 Niang arrived in Milano from Caen for a reported fee of 3 million euros. M’baye initially flopped in San Siro and was loaned at Montpellier and later at Genoa. After a good season at Genoa, Milan decided to give him another chance in San Siro. He played a very good season with manager Mihajlovic, being one of the best players of the rossoneri. With manager Montella things changed and he failed to impress. In January he was loaned to Watford scoring 2 goals in 16 matches.
