Romano confirms AC Milan first summer signing
AC Milan are moving in advance in order to improve their squad for the upcoming season with new signing set to complete in the coming days.
The winter transfer window was a rather disappointing one for the Rossoneri. AC Milan singed only Colombian goalkeeper Devis Vasquez from Guarani. Nevertheless, the 24-year-old is not considered ready by coach Stefano Pioli and will likely leave on loan to another Italian club at the end of the season.
A revolution will take place this summer at the goalkeepers department. Besides the situation of Vasquez, AC Milan will not be extending the contracts of Tatarusanu and Mirante with both set to leave as free agents. Current Atalanta goalkeeper, Marco Sportiello, will be the new number two of AC Milan.
AC Milan have decided to bring in an experienced goalkeeper in Italian football. Marco Sportiello has made 130 appearances with Atalanta and is considered the perfect profile to serve as Mike Maignan’s back-up. The French goalkeeper has missed many games in his two years in Italy and a quality goalkeeper is need.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms that Marco Sportiello will sign his contract with Milan in the coming days. The 30-year-old will become AC Milan’s first summer singing. From what acmilaninfo.com has learned Sportiello will sign a two-year contract with a renewal option for another season.
Having secured an experienced Italian goalkeeper AC Milan will turn their attention to strengthening. The summer priorities of the summer transfer window for the Rossoneri will be the signing of a new centre forward and right winger.
