Rebic risks maxi-suspension after Napoli match

AC Milan will continue to struggle with limited numbers in attack with Ante Rebic risking suspension for a long time.

One of the main problems of AC Milan today is the management of the strikers. Coach Stefano Pioli has had very limited choices in attack, despite the additions during the January mercato.

Even yesterday, in Milan-Napoli, the Rossoneri were forced to field Rafael Leao in the centre forward role, supported by a Hakan Calhanoglu certainly not at the best of his physical condition. An emergency in attack that risks becoming even more serious in view of next Sunday’s match against Fiorentina, another tricky match to say the least.

The emergency in attack that is expected to worsen due to the attitude of Ante Rebic. The Croatian winger was back in the squad yesterday after the hip problem, but his match against Napoli did not last long and ended in the worst possible way.

The AC Milan number 12 got sent away for swearing at the referee in the final moments of the match, after he had whistled a foul in favor of Napoli.

Surely Ante Rebic is suspended for the next match against Fiorentina but the Sports Judge (depending on the referee report) could also stop the Croatian for 3 more games, imposing a maxi-suspension given the strict rules on insults. In Florence, therefore, Milan will be without Rebic and while the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic is in great doubt.
