Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is one of the names AC Milan are considering to replace the departing Hakan Calhanoglu.
Hakan Calhanoglu has decided to reject AC Milan’s renewal proposal and join Inter instead. The Nerazzurri offered the Turkish midfielder 5.5 million per season, more than the Rossoneri’s final offer of 4 million. Now, AC Milan must explore the market to find a new attacking midfielder.
Papu Gomez, Josip Ilicic and Hakim Ziyech have been linked with the Rossoneri while Rodrigo De Paul will be joining Atletico Madrid. A new name on AC Milan’s orbit to replace Calhanoglu is Dani Ceballos reports MilanNews.it.
The Spanish midfielder has returned to Real Madrid after a disappointing spell with Arsenal in the Premier League. The 24-year-old made 40 appearances with the Gunners in an underwhelming season for the entire squad. At the end, Arsenal decided against making his transfer permanent.
Dani Ceballos was very close to joining AC Milan two years ago on loan but the transfer collapsed because Real Madrid didn’t want to give a purchase option. Real Madrid and AC Milan are currently closing the last details of the Brahim Diaz agreement and the relationship between the two clubs could favor other deals.
Ceballos is not part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans so he must find a new club this summer. Alvaro Odriozola is another Los Blancos player that the Rossoneri are carefully following. The 24-year-old right back could arrive to challenge Davide Calabria for a spot in Stefano Pioli’s eleven.
