Ralf Rangnick is not wasting time and has already made contact with AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, a former top target of the German.
Hakan Calhanoglu is a player highly appreciated by Ralf Rangnick. In January 2019 the German wanted to take him at Red Bull Leipzig but Milan and the player rejected their advances. In a few months the two could find themselves at the Rossoneri.
According to what was revealed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rangnick has called Hakan Calhanoglu in recent months. The Red Bull’s current Head of Sport and Development spoke to him about his plans and expressed his appreciation for the 26-year-old midfielder.
Barring any surprises, Rangnick and Calhanoglu will work together next season. There are no more doubts, even if twists and turns should never be excluded 100%.
In the summer of 2017 AC Milan spent nearly 24 million euros to sign Hakan from Bayer Leverkusen. The Turkey international did great in his first season at San Siro but has failed to replicate the same form ever since. This season he has made 25 appearances scoring 5 goals and assisting one.
