Ralf Rangnick, who is set to become the new AC Milan coach, is already planning the summer transfer business.
According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews.it), Ralf Rangnick will be the new coach of AC Milan and also the man in charge of the summer transfers. Not only that but journalist Claudio Raimondi reports that the German is already preparing the transfer market activity of the Rossoneri.
Among the players that the German would like to bring to Milan there are three that he knows very well. Unlike what initially reported Milan are aware that Timo Werner is not a realistic target and have turned their attention to other names in attack. However, his two teammates could follow Rangnick in Italy.
Centre back Dayot Upamecano is Rangnick’s top name to strengthen the defence. The 21-year-old French defender is a player that appeals to many especially with his contract set to expire in 2021. The price tag of Upamecano is €30 million, the perfect partner for Romagnoli.
In midfield Rangnick could give Milan another old transfer target: Dani Olmo. The Spanish attacking midfielder was close to join Milan in January but he was snatched by Red Bull Leipzig. However, this could be only a quick step. Dani Olmo costs 40 million euros and at Milan he would must likely play as winger.
Another protege of Rangnick is Dominik Szoboszlai. The 19-year-old left midfielder himself confirmed he was in talks with the Rossoneri. AC Milan are working with Red Bull Salzburg to lower the transfer price of Szoboszlai. The talented Hungarian midfielder is one of the most in-demand players in Europe and competition for his services is fierce.
Two are midfielders that Rangnick is paying close attention are Mario Gotze and Udinese’s Rolando Mandragora. The surprising news is that AC Milan’s interest in Luka Jovic is a directive of Rangnick. The Serbian striker will leave Real Madrid in the summer and the Rossoneri are trying to bring him in Serie A. The German coach has not forgotten what Jovic did in his two years in Bundesliga.
