Mino Raiola offers €36m defender to AC Milan
Agent Mino Raiola has offered Kostas Manolas to AC Milan. The signing of the Roma centre back could be funded by the sale of a defender.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – The midfield remains a priority but an important signing is expected in defence. AC Milan are looking for a centre back to fill the void after Zapata’s and Abate’s departure. In addition to Sampdoria defender Andersen, indicated by new Marco Giampaolo, the Rossoneri are also interested in AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
Il Corriere della Sera reports today that agent Mino Raiola has proposed the Greek defender to AC Milan. The player has a release clause of 36 million euros (3 million go to the player) but apparently the biggest obstacle is his salary request of €6 million per year.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which confirms a meeting between Milan and Roma, the potential arrival of Manolas is explained by the likely departure of Musacchio this summer. Maldini and Boban want a top defender to partner with captain Alessio Romagnoli are seriously thinking of selling the Argentine.
AC Milan signed Musacchio in 2017 for €18 million euros and the former Villarreal has made 55 appearances in his two years at San Siro. He is a reliable figure but not the top player AC Milan need to improve their defence. Tottenham are interested in his services and if any club offers around 20 million he will be sold this summer.
Kostas Manolas is AC Milan’s top target but the management is also considering other options. Dejan Lovren, the Croatian defender of Liverpool, is currently the option B. Liverpool have put the 29-year-old centre back on the market and value him at €20 million.
