AC Milan midfielder to miss out 8 matches

The 28-year-old AC Milan midfielder is expected to stay out for one month as confirmed by coach Stefano Pioli.

Sandro Tonali has just recovered and is expected to start form the first minute against Atalanta this evening. However, coach Stefano Pioli has just lost another central midfielder. In the pre-match press conference the Italian coach confirmed the serious injury of Rade Krunic.

He will not be available. Krunic had a muscle problem and we’ll have to understand the extend of his injury“, said Stefano Pioli. The Bosnia Herzegovina international will undergo detailed medical exams in the following days but AC Milan expect Rade Krunic to stay out for at least one month.

Krunic is set to miss the upcoming 8 matches including the first two Champions League games. A disappointing news for the Rossoneri that will certainly force the management to speed up talks for the signing of a new central midfielder. The names of Onyedika, Onana and Vranckx are being evaluated by Maldini and Massara.

In the meantime, it will be up to Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli to fill up the space left void by Krunic. The two summer arrivals are slowly integrating with the squad’s playing mechanisms and will feature much more in the future.

Totally out of Stefano Pioli’s sight is Tiemoue Bakayoko. AC Milan want to cut short the loan of the French midfielder and Krunic’s injury will not change their plans. A Premier League return is possible for Bakayoko with Nottingham Forest interested in his services.
