Il Corriere della Sera reveals this morning that Paris Saint-Germain are again in pursuit of AC Milan’s youngster Gigio Donnarumma.
Although the French club has three goalkeepers (Buffon, Areola and Trapp) they are preparing a bid of around 40 million euros for Gigio. However, AC Milan have made it clear that the club has no intention of selling. Relations with agent Mino Raiola have improved and the 19-year-old goalkeeper is at the center of the new project.
Donnarumma, therefore, unsellable. Only a shock offer, like those for Allison (transferred from Roma to Liverpool for 75 million) and Kepa (80 million to move from Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea) could eventually make Milan think again. At the moment there are no proposals of this type on the horizon and the Rossoneri value Gigio more than the 40 million that Paris are willing to offer. Given the prices of the current transfer market window, it would be a disaster to sell a young and promising goalkeeper for this figure. Leonardo and Paolo Maldini are well aware.
At AC Milan there is the will to revive and enhance Donnarumma after a season with some mistakes, perhaps due to the too much pressure received following the negotiation for the renewal of his contract. The relationship with the fans cracked and earning as many as 6 million annually would normally put pressure on him. Not to mention Raiola’s statements that negatively affected the boy’s serenity. Now the scenario is different and we hope that Gigio can continue grow.
