Portuguese star issues come and get me plea to AC Milan
Lille central midfielder Renato Sanches openly declares his appreciation for AC Milan. The Rossoneri want Sanches to replace Franck Kessie.
Renato Sanches has been linked with a potential move to AC Milan. The Portuguese central midfielder is a top transfer target for the Rossoneri and Arsenal with both clubs in need to improve their midfield in January.
AC Milan have identified Sanches as the ideal replacement of Franck Kessie who is set to leave the Rossoneri at the end of the season as a free agent. The 24-year-old has decided to shed some light on his future plans in an interview with L’Equipe.
“I have spoken to my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which are not, but now I can’t say it. But I know I’m ready. If an offer arrives, I’ll see what’s best for me“.
When asked explicitly on the interest of Milan and Arsenal, Sanches replies: “Maybe they are both interested but I don’t know for sure. I like and appreciate Milan very much, it’s a club that has class and history. As said I am ready to change if there is the possibility. Off in January? Possible, I have to evaluate everything“.
Renato Sanches reveals that he was set to join Barcelona last summer: “I was supposed to go to Barcelona months ago, during the summer window. Then I injured my muscles and everything was off“.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Renato Sanches was very close to becoming an AC Milan player four years ago. “Renato Sanches loves Milan. A little over 4 years ago he was one centimeter from joining Milan. He had agreed terms with the Rossoneri but Bayern Munich sent him on loan to Swansea.“
