Tommaso Pobega is a central midfielder with a keen eye for goal, a rare commodity in today’s football.
Tommaso Pobega is certainly one of the revelations of this first part of the season in Serie A. The AC Milan-owned midfielder, on loan to Torino, is growing visibly.
The 22-year-old player, fresh from a more than positive adventure with Spezia, immediately became a pillar for Ivan Juric who trusted in his talent from the first moment. His performances are not going unnoticed, so much so that he was recently called for international duty from coach Roberto Mancini.
Pobega appears destined to do great things, most likely with the Red and Black shirt. The Rossoneri have shown that they believe in him and refused to negotiate his permanent transfer to Toruno despite Juric’s insistence. A more mature Pobega will return to Milanello next summer with an important haul of goals. Getting to double digits this season appears complicated but not impossible.
At the moment Pobega has found the back of the net on 4 occasions. Goals that are not the result of chance: “In my role it is important to make the right decisions, to make the right choice. You need to work a lot, get to know the teammates and read the moment. I am convinced that the goals I score are the result of moving forward, they are not the result of chance but of positive thinking. If you do it often, sooner or later the ball arrives. The goal is the most important thing, then the choices and then the physical structure “.
Pobega is now fully focused at Torino: “I feel good, with the group and with the city. It has everything and is not intrusive“.
The Italian central midfielder has been part of AC Milan since the age of 14: “I have great willpower. I have always played with the older players. Either I did something or I risked succumbing. I’ve always had the last word for my things“.
