Marco Giampaolo, the new coach of AC Milan, has a long track record of discovering and enhancing young promising talents.
MILAN NEWS – Marco Giampaolo is officially the new coach of AC Milan coach. The Rossoneri will be Giampaolo’s first top club after several years of coaching in Serie A. The management is currently working to complete the squad and offer the Italian coach a competitive team for next season.
Giampaolo is ready for a new challenge after three good seasons at the helm of Sampdoria, where he showed all his tactical qualities, giving a proactive style of play to the team but without making an excellent quality leap like Atalanta. However, the main characteristic of Giampaolo concerns the always positive management of young talents, all exploding during his tenure.
The first name that comes to mind among those enhanced by the Giampaolo cure is Piotr Zielinski. The midfield star of Napoli was launched by Marco Giampaolo at Empoli where he played mainly as attacking midfielder. Zielinski is now one of the best in his position in Serie A and Europe.
Same situation for Leandro Paredes and Riccardo Saponara, who at Empoli both made themselves noticed. The Argentine international later joined Roma and in January PSG paid 40 million for is services. Saponara on the other hand managed to revive his career at Empoli and earn a transfer to Fiorentina. This season he was on loan at Sampdoria.
In recent years, at Sampdoria, Giampaolo also had the patience and prudence to focus on players like Milan Skriniar or Patrik Schick, who later went to Inter and Roma, or the recent hits Lucsa Torreira, Andersen and Dennis Praet, talents who deserved Giampaolo’s trust and today are considered to be possible market “cracks“. Without forgetting that the current Serie A top scorer Fabio Quagliarella, when he was very young, he received the right football lessons from his current coach while at Ascoli. Quagliarella has always recognized to Giampaolo the merits of his growth.
