Pioli to make two changes in attack for Fiorentina match
Serie A football returns with AC Milan set to face Fiorentina away from San Siro. Pioli will make two changes in attack.
The international break is over and players are back with their clubs. The Rossoneri will travel to Firenze on Saturday to face Fiorentina, a traditionally difficult opponent for AC Milan.
Fiorentina vs Milan will be the start of a phase full of crucial matches for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates. In fact, the Rossoneri will play nine consecutive matches until the next break, the one for the Christmas holidays.
Coach Stefano Pioli will have to manage carefully the energy and forces of his squad taking into consideration the upcoming Champions League match against Atletico Madrid. For Fiorentina vs Milan, Pioli plans to make two important changes in attack according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Pioli will have 4 forwards at his disposal, all in good physical shape and eager to gain space and confidence. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud are battling for the centre forward role while Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao face each-other for a starting spot on the left wing.
Stefano Pioli has decided to favor the two players that have stayed at Milanello during this period rather than play with their national teams. Oliver Giroud was snubbed by his France while Ante Rebic who left out by Croatia. Both will start from the first minute against Fiorentina with Alexis Saelemaekers completing the attack.
A good news for coach Pioli is the return of Alessio Romagnoli who has fully recovered. Fiorentina on the other had have a big problem in defence with centre back Nikola Milenkovic, Lucas Martinez Quarta and Matija Nastasic unavailable due to injuries and suspension.
