AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli talks on Tomori’s permanent signing and the contract renewals for Ibra, Gigio and Calhanoglu.
Fikayo Tomori has made some great performances since joining AC Milan. In January, few had predicted such an impact considering that the English defender had struggled for first team football during his time with Chelsea.
The Rossoneri are quite happy with the 23-year-old centre back. He is now a regular starter alongside Simon Kjaer and at the end of the season AC Milan has expected to make his transfer permanent. Fikayo Tomori arrived at Milan on loan with an option to buy set at 28 million euros.
In today’s press conference Stefano Pioli was asked on Tomori’s possible purchase in the summer. Obviously, the Italian coach was very pleased with the performances of Fikayo so far.
“We are very satisfied with how he has settled in. Tomori has important characteristics. We must continue to do well, without thinking about the future. We have to think only about tomorrow’s match, it will be complicated, the international break will take away some preparation for the match. Let’s focus on Sampdoria and then we’ll think about the future“.
When asked about the contract renewals of Ibra, Gigio and Calhanoglu, Pioli replies: “When I spoke of serenity it means that it is a feeling that I see in the eyes of Calhanoglu, Ibrahimovic and Donnarumma, that is the players who are currently in renewal negotiations. They know their future is now, it would change a lot for all of us to play in the Champions League or not. I see a lot of concentration“.
