Pioli opens on possible transfer move for Scamacca

Stefano Pioli

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli did not hide his appreciation for Genoa striker Gianluca Scamacca, one of the main transfer targets of the Rossoneri.

When the summer mercato opens, AC Milan aim to sign a top centre forward. Someone that can play alongside Ibrahimovic or alternative with him. One of the most important names of Paolo Maldini’s list of targets is Gianluca Scamacca.

This season, Scamacca has already scored nine goals and assisted two between Serie A and Coppa Italia. The most notable characteristics of the young Italian striker are his stature and physical strength. The 22-year-old seems like the natural technical heir of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His great characteristics have obviously placed him at the center of interest from top clubs like Juventus, besides the Rossoneri. Sassuolo, the club that owns him, rates Scamacca at around 25 million euros. A high figure for a young player but Sassuolo believe they have in their hands a rising star of Italian football.

Today, the Genoa striker was protagonist of an unfortunate episode that decided the match in AC Milan’s favor. Coach Stefano Pioli, in the pre-match press conference, confirmed the high appreciation for Gianluca:Scamacca is a very promising young player, with well-defined characteristics. He has great physicality and technique, a strong player“.

The two other strikers linked with AC Milan are Andrea Belotti and Dusan Vlahovic. The Torino star is available for the same as Scamacca while Fiorentina have slapped a 50 million euros on their gem.
