Pioli explicitly asks Furlani to sign bomber with 31 goals to his name

AC Milan continue to negotiate the signing of the prolific Porto goal scorer who has already agreed personal terms and his pushing to close a deal.

The summer transfer window will close next week. AC Milan have been one of the most active clubs on the market making 9 signings so far for a total of around 140 million spent to strengthen every department with important players. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri still lack one last signing to end their summer transfer business.

AC Milan have already reached an agreement with Monza to loan out Lorenzo Colombo. However, the transfer will materialize only when the Rossoneri have brought in his substitute. The top priority for the club is Mehdi Taremi and AC Milan even today are still working to sign the 31-year-old prolific goal scorer from Porto.

Journalist Andrea Longoni reports that Giorgio Furlani is ready to fly to Portugal at any time if the green light is received from Porto. AC Milan’s strong interest in Mehdi Taremi is a specific demand of Stefano Pioli. The Italian coach explicitly asked CEO Giorgio Furlani to make a move and purchase Teremi whose contract with Porto expires in one year.

Taremi has already agreed personal terms with AC Milan and is eager to join the Italian club. He is pushing with this agents and putting pressure to Porto to accept Milan’s offered. Jorge Mendes is also involved in this negotiation. Until now Porto have lowered their asking price from €30 million to €25 million but that’s not yet enough because Milan want to spend less than €20 million for a player they can sign for free next year.

Mehdi Taremi has been a formidable player in his three years at Porto. The Iran international has scored 80 goals (31 of wich last season) and provided 49 assists in 147 appearances with the Portuguese club. In Pioli’s plans, Taremi will be the Giroud of future years. A proven goal scorer that can play Giroud’s role not only on the pitch but also in terms of importance and experience. The contract of the French striker expires at the end of the season so a new veteran striker is needed if he leaves.
