Considering the important absence of Romagnoli, AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli could use Franck Kessie to fill the void in the back line.
The summer transfer window is nearing its end and AC Milan have yet to address two key issues. A new centre back is desperately needed, just like a new central midfielder. Maldini is studying the situation.
During today’s press conference of Mr. Stefano Pioli, which was staged a little while ago at Milanello, the Italian coach commented on the back line problems.
One specific question referred to the position of Franck Kessie, AC Milan’s handyman midfielder. The Ivorian, in an almost emergency period like the current one, could also fill the role of central defender.
“The matches are many and the defense is in a state of emergency. While waiting for new signings from the management, have you ever thought about Kessie in that position? Frank has often played as a defender in the past. Could it be an idea?“
Pioli’s positive reply was ready: “I talked about this with Franck and he gave me his availability. He is the only non-defender member of the squad who can play in that role. I hope there is no need but he is ready to play as a central player”.
