AC Milan confirm the injury of Charles De Ketelaere during last training session at Milanello while Junior Messias has recovered just in time.
AC Milan will host Chelsea at San Siro on Tuesday. The Rossoneri have bounced back after the Stamford Bridge defeat overcoming Juventus 2-0 with a convincing performance. The first leg defeat puts AC Milan in a difficult spot. They are currently third in their Champions League group and desperately need to make points against Chelsea.
However, bad news has no end for Stefano Pioli. It looks like the injury situation keeps getting worse at Milanello. In today’s pre-match press conference the Italian coach confirmed the absence of Charles De Ketelaere for the upcoming match against Chelsea.
“Unfortunately, Charles has had a muscle fatigue and will not be available for tomorrow. I think not even for Sunday (against Hellas Verona). Junior Messias has recovered and will be available“, said Stefano Pioli. In the absence of De Ketelaere, Pioli will confirm Brahim Diaz from the first minute.
“We have to show that that the defeat in England was just an episode and not the norm. We were very disappointed with the performance in London. We have to learn from our mistakes and do better“, said Pioli when asked about the squad’s desire to do better this time.
“Milan must not live between doubts and worries, but must play at their level. We need to produce a high level performance against a strong team like Chelsea. High on a technical, tactical and mental level. We must not be worried, tomorrow is another game and we must try to play at our level“, confirmed the Italian coach.
