Pioli asks three signings from AC Milan
Stefano Pioli has clear ideas on what AC Milan to fight for a place in Champions and has already presented his demands to the club.
Coach Stefano Pioli has clear ideas about the signings that AC Milan need. He has already spoken with Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and Ivan Gazidis. According to reports by Tuttosport, the Italian coach has asked for three important signings: a right back, a good central defender and a top midfielder who can alternate with Kessie and Bennacer.
Maldini has three targets regarding the right back role. So far AC Milan have been in talks for Denzel Dumfries of PSV, Serge Aurier of Tottenham and Emerson Royal who plays for Real Betis but is owned by Barcelona. At least 20 million euros will be need to bring one of the three at San Siro.
Regarding the central defender it’s no secret that Pioli’s top pick is his former player Nikola Milenkovic. Nevertheless, Fiorentina have insisted that the 22-year-old defender will leave only for 40 million and the Rossoneri have no intention of paying that figure for a player who has only two years remaining in his contract. Other names are being considered. Bakayoko is the most reachable option in midfield.
However, these three signings may not be enough to allow AC Milan to do better next season. More than one signing is needed in midfield, in addition to the return of Tommaso Pobega from Pordenone. A new right winger would be quite useful besides the purchase of a back-up for Theo Hernandez, given that Ricardo Rodriguez will be sold to Torino and Diego Laxalt will also leave.
