New AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has requested the signing of Inter central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.
AC Milan have promised Stefano Pioli new purchases in the January transfer window and according to reports the newly appointed AC Milan coach has requested the signings of Roberto Gagliardini.
The former Atalanta central midfielder joined Inter when Pioli was coach of the Nerazzurri for a fee of €22.5 million. Pioli wants more physical presence in midfield and would love to work again with his former player. The Italian coach made an attempt to sign Gagliardini while at Fiorentina but without success.
Roberto Gagliardini is not a regular starter under Antonio Conte. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old has made five appearances, including two in Champions League for a total of 266 minutes on the pitch. Inter are open to negotiate reports calciomercato.it.
The player wants to be part of the Italian national team in upcoming Euro 2020 championship and has asked Inter for more space. However, with Barella, Sensi and Brozovic in fine form, the former Atalanta may have to look elsewhere for more play time.
AC Milan are expected to make important investments in January to reinforce the midfield. With Bennacer, Biglia, Paqueta and Calhanoglu underwhelming so far, Stefano Pioli is seeing a solution at his former player.
