Former AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek could return to the Rossoneri to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic a report claims.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Krzysztof Piatek could make a stunning return at AC Milan. The German adventure of the Polish striker has produced 2 goals in 6 appearances with Hertha Berlin and he could be the replacement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is destined to leave the Rossoneri at the end of the season.

Considering the current situation, Milan would be left with only two strikers: Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao. On-loan striker Andre Silva will remain at Eintracht Frankfurt for another year, while Suso is enjoying his time at Sevilla and has no intention of returning to the Rossoneri.

But with what formula could Piatek return, considering that Milan sold him on a permanent transfer in January. Possible loan or activation of a secret buy-back clause in the contract? At the moment there are no details, but CorSport is strongly backing this scenario.

In addition, Corriere dello Sport reports that Piatek has all the requirements that satisfy Elliott Management Corporation. Meaning, being just 24 he is young and has a salary within the club’s reach of 2 million euros. And if in the past he managed to establish himself as one of Serie A’s top scorers, he can still have his say if he finds a more supportive environment.

The ‘prodigal son’, in the case, could be experienced in the 4-2-3-1 that Luciano Spalletti likes so much, the only valid alternative to Ralf Rangnick according to CorSport, and at the same time he could play his chances with Stefano Pioli if he’s confirmed. Although Pioli did little to help the Polish striker during their time together. After a tormented start with Marco Giampaolo, Piatek closed his second season with only 5 goals in 20 games before his surprise sale.

The return of  Krzysztof Piatek would be an opportunity for redemption for a bomber who hadn’t reached his peak and seemed only at the start of a glorious career.
