Cutrone injured with Italy U-21: the situation
AC Milan young striker Patrick Cutrone was subject of a unfortunate episode in tonight’s game Italy U-21 vs Albania U-21.
Italy’s Under-21 friendly match against Albania finished early for Patrick Cutrone. The 20 year old centre forward of AC Milan was forced to leave the pitch on the 34th minute due to an ankle injury that did not allow him to continue playing. According to the first diagnosis, Cutrone has suffered a slight distortion trauma that will be better evaluated in the next few hours, to understand if the player will be available to coach Gattuso for the next match against Cagliari.
However early exams show that it is not a serious problem and Cutrone should be fit for Sunday’s game. Tomorrow Patrick, who kicked and then leaned his left foot badly, will make a magnetic resonance immediately after his return to Milano.
The injury of Cutrone, despite its low risk, highlight an obvious problem at Milanello. The Rossoneri have only two strikers available for this season and a potential injury of Patrick Cutrone or Gonzalo Higuain would leave Milan vulnerable, or, in a worst case scenario, without a single forward available for coach Gennaro Gattuso.
