AC Milan beat Roma and sign Franck Kessie from Atalanta for 28 million euros. The second signing by the Chinese owners after Musacchio.

Franck Kessie will be Chinese owners second signing after Mateo Musacchio. After a long battle with Roma the rossoneri prevailed. A deal had been reached with Atalanta a few days ago and now can be finally officialized. The 20 year old midfielder underwent medicals at 9 o’clock in La Madoninna clinic. He will continue with athletic test this afternoon. Tomorrow he will be in Milanello to undergo further test at Milan Lab and afterwards will sign the new contract.

Kessie will cost AC Milan 28 – 30 million euros bonuses included. According to Il Corriere dello Sport he arrives in San Siro on a two year loan with the obligation to make the move permanent subsequently. The rossoneri will immediately pay only 2 millions for the loan. In this way Milan can deduct from the transfer budget of this season only 2 millions for Kessie and not 30 in order to reinvest more money from the reported 150 millions budget millions in other signings.

The midfielder will sign a 5 year contract with Milan that will earn him 2,2 million euros (net) per season. His pay will raise year after year. Milan is spending big for a 20 year player in whom they are putting a lot of faith. For his signature Fassone and Mirabelli beat Roma who had found an agreement with Atalanta but not with the players agent. The two Milan officials managed to strip competition from one of the biggest talents in Serie A. Kessie has been one of the biggest surprises this season with Atalanta. The 20 year old has been a true revelation scoring 6 goals and assisting 4 times. Atalanta shocked Serie A finishing 4th ahead of teams like Milan, Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina. During the negotiations Kessie made it clear that joining the rossoneri was his only desire.
