AC Milan have announced the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ante Rebic on loan with the right to buy for €25 million.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – In a shocking turn of events, AC Milan have abandoned the pursuit of long-time target Angel Correa and have completed the signing of Ante Rebic in his place.
Everything was completed a few minutes ago and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ante Rebic will join AC Milan on a two-year loan with the right to make the move permanent at the end of the season for €25 million plus bonuses. The Croatian player had his medical at the La Madonnina clinic and has signed a contract of 3 million per season. When asked about his new adventure in Italy by the journalists Rebic replied “I’m very happy to be here. Forza Milan“.
As part of the deal, Andre Silva will join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan. The German club, just like AC Milan, will have the right to sign Silva on a permanent basis after two season for around the same fee. The entire operation was conducted by AC Milan chief football officer Zvonomir Boban. Boban contacted Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic and the two reached a deal in a very short time.
Finally the search for a new forward has come to an end at Casa Milan. It will be Rebic and not Correa the second striker the Rossoneri needed to complete Marco Giampaolo’s side. According to Sky Sport, AC Milan made one last push for Correa but Atletico Madrid once again stood firm in their 50 million evaluation of the Argentine player.
Ante Rebic achieved international success with his national team in World Cup 2018 leading Croatia to the final. The 25-year-old former Fiorentina made 38 appearances with Eintracht Frankfurt last season, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists.
