The scandalous decisions of referee Luca Banti in the Super Cup final against Juventus will cost three Rossoneri players participation in Genoa-Milan.
The Super Cup loss against Juventus will have severe consequences even in the upcoming Serie A match with Genoa. Not only did Milan suffered an unjust defeat thanks to same amateur mistakes by referee Banti but three Rossoneri players will be suspended for Monday’s encounter.
The Sporting Judge has decided today that the Super Cup suspensions will be valid for the next round of Serie A. Three AC Milan players will skip the away match with Genoa.
Franck Kessie, captain Alessio Romagnoli (also fined 1500 euros) and Davide Calabria will not be available. Kessie was subject of a controversial red card in the 74-th minute. In that occasion the referee decided to also punish Romagnoli with a yellow card because he was asking an explanation to Banti.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso has been suspended for one match too. The motive behind this decision was: “because, at the end of the match, he threatened the referee, he protested screaming his decision, and before the ceremony, addressed the referee with offensive and insinuating words“.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso must also pay a fine of 15 thousand euros. As if Banti’s decisions weren’t scandalous enough the Italian football federation is punishing AC Milan for the second time.
