Within two weeks UEFA will unveil the FFP sanctions AC Milan will face but the situation seems in favor of the Rossoneri club.
In a few days UEFA will inform Milan on the penalty the club will face for breaching the Financial Fair Play during the 2014-2017 period. And, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the sentence could be very similar to the one that was given to Inter three and a half years ago. The fine should be paid in installments and discounted if in the meantime the club’s finances improve until they return within the parameters imposed by the Fair Play.
The latest rumors reinforce this hypothesis. According to La Gazzetta, UEFA will established a fixed figure and will then monitor the trend in turnover to decide whether or not collect the remaining part of the fine. If so, the penalty would finally be proportionate, but if things should go differently and the penalty is excessive, the Rossoneri will take UEFA back to CAS Tribunal of Lausanne
While waiting for the sentence, Elliott reorganized the club organization chart and appointed a new CEO, Ivan Gazidis, whose first objective is to increase Milan’s revenues. UEFA’s verdict is expected within two weeks and it will affect the transfer decisions of Milan.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport explains, if the total amount due was modest there will be a higher budget available for Leonardo on January. So far the Rossoneri have purchased only Lucas Paqueta for 35 million euros. Leo is monitoring the market for three other players to complete Gattuso’s side.
