The recent results of AC Milan have been very disappointing. President Paolo Scaroni has reminded the team and Gattuso that failure to qualify for Champions is not acceptable.
AC Milan are going through a difficult moment of form after two consecutive draws in Serie A (twice 0-0 against Torino and Bologna) and the clamorous elimination from Europa League. Despite the great disappointment the Rossoneri are alone in fourth place in Serie A and if the 2018/19 campaign would finish now, Gattuso’s side would qualify for Champions League.
It is no secret that participation in the most prestigious competition for European clubs is the great goal of the Red and Black Devil for this season and for coach Gennaro Gattuso it is certainly an obligation from now until the end of the season.
SCARONI CONFIRMS – La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning that yesterday president Paolo Scaroni, during the Christmas party of Milan youth, confirmed this ambition: “Milan is a bit so-so, but there is an important news. We are fourth. You know what it means to be fourth? Well, this is the most important thing, because we need Milan to return to Champions League. We are fourth, if we are able to stay there it’s enough for me (this season), and I think it’s just enough for you too“. The AC Milan president was very clear and reiterated a concept that has been known since Elliott became the new owner of Milan.
INCREASING REVENUES – In order to increase the club’s revenues, going to Champions League is crucial. The Rossoneri desperately need to return to the top European competition, especially because UEFA’s ruling is destined to complicate the life of the Devil in the future. For this reason, president Scaroni wanted to make clear what is the main goal of Milan this season. Gattuso and the team are warned, failure is not acceptable.
