After clarifying the “issue” with Giampaolo, AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta had a meeting with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.
MILAN NEWS – Coach Marco Giampaolo is not the only person Lucas Paqueta met yesterday. Tuttosport reports that the Brazilian midfielder of AC Milan had a meeting with technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara.
However, writes the Italian newspaper, it seems that the management duo and the former Flamengo talked exclusively about technical issues and not anything else. After the positive start to life in Italy with Gennaro Gattuso in 2019, the Brazilian is now struggling to establish himself under the new coach.
The social media controversy was not a topic of their discussion. Maldini and Massara are only interested about the performance of AC Milan in the upcoming derby against Inter and will not fine the player for his comments. The issue with the coach has been solved too.
According to Tuttosport, everything is now fine between Paqueta and Giampaolo. The Italian coach clarified that his phrase “too Brazilian” referred only to his playing style and nothing else. Giampaolo reaffirmed that the 21-year-old is an important player for his game system but also for the club.
In the second part of last season, the Brazil international was one of AC Milan’s best players. He performed really well but is struggling a bit this season. Considering the disappointing display with Verona, very likely we will see Paqueta as central midfielder in the next games.
