Total lineup overhaul for Milan-Fiorentina

Milan-Fiorentina is the most difficult match for the Rossoneri before the end of the year. Except the lack of goals Gattuso must also deal with the absence of Kessie and Bakayoko.

The race for a spot in the top four is destined to be a long one, especially for the fourth place. Lazio and Roma keep losing points but the Rossoneri are not able to exploit the mistakes of their opponents and shorten the distance with third-place Inter.

After the home draw with Torino, AC Milan failed to win again even with Bologna. Gennaro Gattuso’s side was to weak to beat a team that is in the relegation zone and that is an alarming signal. Making matters worse, both Franck Kessie and Tiemoue Bakayoko will be unavailable for Milan-Fiorentina, to be played on Saturday.

The absence of the central dam in midfield, and the recent underwhelming performances of Gonzalo Higuain and Patrick Cutrone up front, has forced coach Gattuso to change formation for the next Serie A match.

Sky Sport reports that Rino will use the 4-3-3 lineup in Milan-Fiorentina. In midfield it is very likely the inclusion of both Jose Mauri and Andrea Bertolacci from the first minute. Another change is expected to be the return of Hakan Calhanoglu in that department to complete the three man midfield.

Samu Castillejo is finally rewarded with a starting jersey in attack alongside Suso and Higuain. The Rossoneri have under-performed in the last games between Serie A and Europa League and one of the main reasons has been the lack of goals from the strikers. Hopefully, Castillejo will inject some much needed energy in that area.
