New winger: AC Milan chasing 4 players
The signing of at least one new winger is a top priority for AC Milan this summer with the Rossoneri in contacts with 4 players.
Attack and midfield, this are the areas where AC Milan’s summer operations will be concentrated. In midfield the Rossoneri need to compensate for the various already planned farewells. Montolivo, Bertolacci and Jose Mauri are guaranteed to leave this summer for free while the future of Biglia, Kessie and Bakayoko is still unclear.
Champions League qualification or not will certainly play a big role in the amount of money Leonardo will have at his disposal this summer. The Brazilian sporting director, immediately after the match against Bologna, declared: “There will be no demobilization of the team but certainly there will be no major investments. We bought players like Piatek and Paqueta, young people, and this will be the line of the future. We still do not have definitive answers, but certainly in the summer there will be no major investments“.
If Milan end the season in the top four Leonardo’s job would be much more easier. Elliot wants to continue investing for the club and UEFA’s FFP restrictions would be simple to bypass. According to Tuttosport, despite the final position of the Rossoneri in the standings, AC Milan will not spare for the signing of at least one new winger.
The are four players AC Milan are considering. The hottest names are Everton Soares of Gremio and Allan Saint-Maximin of Nice while Malcom of Barcelona and Watford’s Gerard Deulofeu are seen as second options. In all four cases we Milan must deal with the high economic assessment of the respective clubs. Gremio for example are asking 40 million euros for Everton while Nice claim 35 million for the 22-year-old right winger. Saint-Maximin’s contract with Nice expires in one year so AC Milan can certainly sign him for a much lower fee.
For Malcolm, it’s Barcelona who have offered the player to Milan but the Rossoneri are doubtful. In this case AC Milan would prefer a loan with the right to buy but the Catalans are not convinced in this option. In recent years AC Milan has practically never purchased a player that has arrived at San Siro initially on loan so Barcelona are rightfully hesitant. Watford on the other hand was very clear on Deulofeu in Januaary: the Spanish winger costs 30 million.
