Nesta blasts transfers policy and AC Milan new owner

AC Milan legend Alessandro Nesta is very critical of the Rossoneri’s transfer business and how the new owner is acting.

The January transfer window was a rather disappointing one for the Rossoneri, to say the least. AC Milan made only one signing, Colombian goalkeeper Devis Vazquez joined from Club Guarani for around 400 thousand euros while Marko Lazetic left on loan. Despite being linked to moves for Dario Osorio, Zaniolo and Ziyech, neither materialized.

Even more disappointing is the fact that Pioli considers the Rossoneri’s only signing, Devis Vazquez, not ready to take over from Tatarusano regardless of the numerous blunders of the latter. The unsatisfying opinion of the fans is also shared by AC Milan legend Alessandro Nesta.

The former AC Milan centre back Alessandro Nesta is not at all impressed with the transfer business of the club. They have to reinforce the squad, they’re always playing the same eleven and you can’t always go at 2,000 per hour for two years. Pioli doesn’t have players who enter and change the game. And then I would go all-in on a center forward. Ibra and Giroud are now their age and at the 60th minute, after they also helped you in pressing, you have to take them off.

AC Milan need one forward that extends the team and scores. It’s time for the club to make an effort. After winning a Scudetto like last season, you have to put in more money or at least clarify, saying we can’t spend and let’s go ahead with the youngsters“, says Alessandro Nesta.

Unfortunately Nesta’s plea has gone unheard. Despite winning the Scudetto a few months ago, and new owner Gerry Cardinale promising investments, nothing happened during the winter window. No striker arrived and the new owner is never seen in Milan.
