Mourinho wants Milan defender at Manchester United

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho is in search of a new centre back and has identified the Rossoneri captain as the ideal target.

In recent months transfer rumors that depicted Leonardo Bonucci as a possible sale have calmed down. The player is happy in Italy and already last summer he preferred to stay in Serie A rather than try a new adventure abroad. However, this morning, Tuttosport reports that Manchester United are interested in the Rossoneri captain.

Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen the defense of his team and has identified Bonucci as the ideal target. According to reports, the Portuguese coach through trusted intermediaries has inquired about the availability of the former Juventus. The Special One is not happy with the back line of the Red Devils and in order to challenge Man City for the Premier League title and Champions League next season requires important investments in that department.

On paper, Bonucci is not considered as one of the players for sale by AC Milan. In any case, a bid in the region of 40-50 million euros could be taken into consideration by the Red and Blacks. Massimiliano Mirabelli recently clarified that the departures also depend on the wishes of the players themselves. If they do not believe in the project and want to leave, the club will not hold them back. So far the AC Milan captain has not expressed any intention to leave, at least for now. At the moment, his farewell seems unlikely.
