Unlike last year, AC Milan are ditching the late evenings timetable and will play more at lunch time. A bold move from the rossoneri in order to gain more visibility in Asia.

Today, Serie A officially confirmed the timing of all the games starting after the international break until the end of December. Unlike last year, AC Milan are ditching the late evenings play time and will play more at lunch time.

Between the third and the seventeenth round, the rossoneri have 15 official league commitments, with only 8 of which to be played on Saturday or Sunday evening. Instead the red and blacks have to play three games at lunch time (12:30) against Sampdoria, Benevento and Hellas Verona. While 4 games will be played at 15:00. A peculiar choice that is solely dictated by the will of the club to expand its brand in China and increase significantly its sales revenue.

Playing at 15:00, or better at 12:30, will allow more Asian viewers to enjoy the rossoneri’s show at a more accessible times.  An innovation applied in the Premier League for a long time now, that’s why it’s no coincidence that the English league is the world’s most watched championship in the world.

Last year the AC Milan – Inter derby was played at 12:30 pm (in the famous Easter Saturday decided in extremis by Zapata’s goal). This time the Milan derby will be played on 15 October at 20:45, on Sunday .
