Monaco to ruin AC Milan transfer plans for the second time
After the failed transfer of AC Milan striker Andre Silva to Monaco, the two clubs cross paths again for Angel Correa.
MILAN NEWS – When the Spanish media reported that Atletico Madrid had completed the signing of striker Rodrigo, everyone thought that AC Milan’s attempt to bring Angel Correa would be much easier with the La Liga club willing to lower their asking price.
Then Mateu Alemany, general director of Valencia, shocked with his statement. “Due to circumstances that have nothing to do with Valencia, Atletico Madrid have withdrawn their offer for Rodrigo. However, I can’t guarantee that the player won’t leave until the end of the summer transfer window”.
Though the Spanish press insist that a deal will happen at the end, negotiations are currently off because Atletico Madrid lack the €60 million required to sign Rodrigo. The signing of the Valencia star was supposed to be financed from the sale of AC Milan transfer target Angel Correa and Nikola Kalinic.
At the moment Atletico Madrid are reportedly very angry with Correa. The Spanish club had accepted an offer from Monaco for his services. The French club had offered 55 million for the Argentine striker matching Atletico Madrid’s asking price but the player immediately refused. In a meeting with the management of the Colchoneros, Angel Correa reaffirmed his desire to join only AC Milan.
This is the second time Monaco are trying to ruin AC Milan’s transfer plans. After the clamorous fiasco with Andre Silva, Milan and Monaco cross paths again for Correa. Despite the two clubs having agreed the sale of Andre Silva to Monaco, the French club pulled the plug on the transfer for unconfirmed reasons at the very last moment. Now they’re trying to snatch Correa from Milan.
