Mirabelli under fire. The one to blame?
Many fans and experts have indicated Vincenzo Montella as unable to guide Milan but many pretend his work was heavily affected from Mirabelli’s mercato.
The only one that has paid so far for the underwhelming and unsuccessful performance of AC Milan is former coach Vincenzo Montella, who was sacked after the goalless draw Torino, judged as unable to lead the Rossoneri team in the top 4.
But today’s edition of Tuttosport is pointing the finger towards Massimiliano Mirabelli, AC Milan’s sports director, chosen by Marco Fassone himself as the ideal man to build the new Rossoneri group, has his share of responsibility in the not so great performance of the team. Most of the transfer market operations last summer have his signature and most of the 11 new players have not convinced so far.
The most popular question is: how many footballers taken by Mirabelli are really better than those who left AC Milan or who ended up on the bench? The performance of the new players is not helping the defense of the Calabrese s.d. Purchases such as those of Musacchio or Rodriguez are even considered useless, as the “veterans” Zapata and Antonelli have an even higher average-rating. The Kessie seen so far and who cost 28 million euros does not look better than the former Kucka, sold for nothing in Turkey. Even in attack where Kalinic and Andre Silva have scored less than Carlos Bacca, sent away with force. The season is still long to make definitive judgments, but so far Mirabelli’s market has been disappointing.
